College Search
This past weekend, I went with my mom and my little sister to visit a college up in California. She became interested in this school after being recruited by the coach of the women's soccer team so we decided to go up and do a tour. My little sister is only a freshman in high school which is why I thought it was a little premature to be doing a college tour but I wanted to be with them to support them. The coach had offered her a full ride to this Division 1 school and has encouraged her to make a verbal commitment if she wants to go there. The reason for the unofficial visit was to see if she actually likes the school so she can see if she wants to continue talking to the coach and pursuing the opportunity to go there. I think it is crazy that coaches are pursing freshman in high school because they are so young and are still developing and maturing as players. I didn't know where I wanted to go until the week before national signing day and definitely wasn't even thinking of colleges at that age. I can't help but put myself in her position and think about how stressful that must be having to think about making decisions like this as a freshman in high school because I certainly wasn't having to make decisions this big when I was her age.
Your sister must have been stressed out thinking about it. Maybe you can give her some advices and try to make her feel better. I know it is important but you should comfort here and makes her understand that she still has time to think more before making any big decisions. I hope your sister can achieve what she really wants!
